J.D. O'Brien
Out in the Cold is the debut feature from documentarian J.D. O’Brien. Growing up, J.D. almost always had a musical instrument in his hand and a new story to tell his friends. In his twenties, he discovered that filmmaking was an even better medium for his stories than music. He attended the Documentary Filmmaking School at the University of the Nations in Harpenden, England, where he won the award for Best Director in his class. Since then, he has returned home to Minnesota, where he spends his time working on short films, commercials, live sports broadcasts, stand up paddle boarding and brewing his own beer.
